Cute but complete garbage.
I don't know about you, but I really missed the ice cube trays of yore where the trays had run off notches between the cube molds so that
you could tilt the water downward so each mold cup could fill and be evened out to a level height.
Then, because they are stackable, you can layer the trays on top of each other so there is no wasted space in your freezer. Once frozen, you can twist the tray in your hands, hear the crack, and the cubes fall out simply and easily.
I bought some of these (crappy) plastic molds to make "cute" ice and it was a waste of time. I even purchased a nice normal tray by the OXO folks but the tray had no notches and was curved in a retarded way so that you can't help but spill water when trying to fill it. And then, once frozen, no amount of twisting will make the cubes fall out. You have to run it under some water so it's a big mess.
I searched online to try and find the type of trays I have mentioned which once came with the crappy Kenmore refrigerator we bought for our home in the early '80s. My first search 5 years ago yielded me nothing. This time, however, after my LP chucked out the OXO tray, I was able to find the Holy Grail of ice cube trays. [Side note: I asked if we should give away the tray, but his reply was that it is such a retarded tray that if he were given such a useless item, he'd be insulted, so why insult our friends? I had to agree. I laughed, but I went with it.]
And where did I find this fabulous tray? Ace Hardware (via my beloved Amazon.com)!! Gawd bless Rubbermaid for making the simple yet perfectly functional tray I was desiring! Check it out man:
I love my ice cubes every time I reach for some in my freezer. Life's about simple pleasures, non?
