Why must we as "good citizens" be forced to serve when we don't want to, which only means we are not giving these cases any sense of good will or sincerity? It's a big sham, this so-called wheel of justice.
In short, I'm pissed because I have to go. And be there by 8am. I barely get up by 8am lately.
I know there are those who ENJOY jury duty as it's the only legally acceptable means of missing work nowadays. I don't care. I'd rather sit at my desk and get some work done versus showing up at some random court house to sit with some random people to get $15.
SERENITY NOW!
Wow, would you rather be back in South Korea wondering if the neighbors to the North aren't going to mishandle a nuclear test? Your life is golden, you eat at the finest restaurants, work for Joel Michaels and shop till you drop because you live in America. Don't be such a snob and go do your civic duty!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for such an insightful (and anonymous!) comment. So when you see somebody ranting on their personal blog about the annoyances of jury duty, your first instinct is to bring up North Korea, say "America, Love It or Leave It," and lecture the person about their civic duty. Awesome. Way to participate in the spirit of things, Professor Bringdown.
ReplyDeleteDo me a favor and go eat a bag of dicks. Then maybe you can post something interesting by telling all of us how that went. And maybe you can even post with your name next time too. Yay!
