Well, at least I have two great albums to remember them by.
Youth & Young Manhood was so original.
Aha Shake Heartbreak was uniquely KOL but also a nice progression from Y&YM in terms of sound and style.
Because of the Times had me a little worried.
Only by the Night - didn't even bother to buy it. I knew based on their unmemorable singles, they've only continued to dilute their sound so much so that it retains nothing that made KOL the unique band I fell in love with. (If Caleb's voice wasn't so distinctive, you would never be able to place what band is performing "Use Somebody.)
There's nothing wrong with becoming more "commercial" for a band that began more on an indie track, but just don't lose that which makes you uniquely you.
Am I a hater? Hmm... maybe. But a la Fred Armisen as Joy Behar, "So what? Who cares?!"
