And as I tell people what we did over the long weekend, I've gotten a few too many huh's? to this information. Considering how much people say they loved Office Space, it seems odd that more don't want to support the genius that is Mike Judge. Of course, I'm the one who also found Idiocrasy to be totally underrated. (Frankly, the direction our society is leaning, I can fully imagine a bleak future as portrayed in that film.)
So, my little reviews are as such -
The Good: Great performances all around. Jason Bateman portrays the usual competant guy whose world is crumbling because of the incompetants around him, but now said guy also has "troubles" with the wife (played really nicely by Kristen Wiig who did an honest and understated comic performance).
Highlight - Ben Affleck. You forget how funny he can be. If anything, I'd think this film serves to up his reel as a sharp reminder that he's a pretty good actor.
The Bad: Don't really have anyting to put in this column.
Overall: Yeah, sure, this isn't the kind of movie one must see in the theaters, but it was worth it to try and support Mike Judge.
Also, for those who don't think it's a very solid film, it just means that person has never worked a blue collar type of job so f*ck what that person thinks, neh?
p.s. Can anyone guess from which '90s film I got the words "two very enthusiastic thumbs up" verbatim?
